Established by Phillip and Heather Hallam in 1987, P.W. Hallam and Associates focuses on providing small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners with the confidence and knowledge to successfully run and manage their own businesses. Phillip Hallam began his career as a qualified electro-mechanical engineer then, after gaining postgraduate qualifications in computing, took the plunge with his wife, Heather, to set up their own businesses. Together the pair opened an IT consultancy as well as a retail business selling office supplies, equipment and stationery. After selling their office supplies, equipment and stationery business, Phillip and Heather continued to operate as business consultants while Phillip returned to employment, simultaneously pursuing a Master of Business and a Master of Education. During this time, Phillip also worked in the Victorian Technical and Further Education (TAFE) sector.
For a number of years Phillip taught both information technology and business competencies. Phillip became Head of the Department of Information Technology at a dual sector university and held this position for five years before initiating a lifestyle change and retuning to the challenges and excitement of working independently.
